This year, the global pandemic has placed a spotlight on the very important role that professional cleaners play in keeping our communities safe and healthy. On Oct. 21, Thank Your Cleaner Day, everyone is reminded to show appreciation for this essential work that maintains a healthy environment for employees. Very often, this work occurs outside of office hours and goes unrecognized by those who most benefit. Thank Your Cleaner Day was created to encourage everyone who works in a facility serviced by professional cleaners to say “Thank You” to the crews who have become COVID-19 heroes.
In 2015, the trade association Building Services Contractors New Zealand partnered with Karcher to recognize hard working cleaning staff on Oct. 21. As an international company specializing in high pressure cleaners, wet/dry vacuums and other cleaning equipment, Karcher was a natural collaborator to bring attention to the work of professional cleaning teams.
The concept took off and has since spread around the world. Today, Karcher partners with Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) to promote this special day. BSCAI represents a worldwide network of companies that provide cleaning, facility maintenance and related services to building owners and managers. As a proud member of the Mid Atlantic chapter of BSCAI, Mister Kleen supports the association’s initiatives, including this annual campaign.
You can show your appreciation for the cleaners in your facility a number of ways. You can send a message to their supervisor, leave a note on your desk, or place a poster around the office. We’ve created a poster template that you can fill in by adding your company logo or writing your company’s name in the space provided. For an extra touch, have employees sign the poster before posting it.
