Mister Kleen has been a leading Washington DC commercial cleaning business since before the arrival of COVID-19 in the metropolitan region, and the novel coronavirus has highlighted the importance of our services in maintaining public health and safety.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has deemed commercial cleaning services such as ours as essential to keeping critical operations to our infrastructure in service. On March 19, the department’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued a “Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers During Covid-19 Response.”
In the memorandum, CISA identifies “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers” who “conduct a range of operations and services that are essential to continued critical infrastructure viability, including staffing operations centers, maintaining and repairing critical infrastructure, operating call centers, working construction, and performing management functions, among others.”
In addition, CISA notes that “functioning critical infrastructure is imperative during the response to the COVID-19 emergency for both public health and safety as well as community well-being. Certain critical infrastructure industries have a special responsibility in these times to continue operations.”
Mister Kleen has been a leading provider of contract cleaning services to commercial and high security facilities in the Washington DC Metro region since 1976. In addition to our regular and specialty cleaning services, Mister Kleen is called in cases of confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis of employees in buildings. In those cases, we use a highly effective electrostatic spray that treats the entire area with disinfectant.

In a recent email, one of our clients called our staff “three heroic teammates” who had been working all night to disinfect their building. He thanked them, and asked about their health and that of their families. He ended by noting with pride that their morale was high.
